Today, Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. announced that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will be providing food benefits, through the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP), in affected counties impacted by Hurricane Harvey. “Starting this Wednesday, HHSC will be assisting eligible victims of Hurricane Harvey with disaster food relief, better known as D-SNAP benefits,” Sen. Lucio said.

HHSC will offer D-SNAP in Kleberg County from Wednesday, September 13 thru Tuesday, September 19, 2017. “Hurricane Harvey victims who may be eligible for D-SNAP benefits are encouraged to follow HHSC’s instructions to determine their eligibility,” Sen. Lucio added.

HHSC is requiring Hurricane Harvey Victims to apply for D-SNAP in their county of residence on certain days depending on the first letter of their last name. Residents in Kleberg County may only apply for D-SNAP between Sept. 13 and Sept. 19. The D-SNAP office location for Kleberg County is located on 1413 E Corral, Kingsville, TX, 77964. Offices will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
